Pope John Paul 2 will be beatified in ceremonies at the Vatican this Sunday, May 1, 2011. Pope John Paul 2 was very important to me. He was the Pope during my departure from the Church, thus proving how stupid and prideful I can be, and he was reigning when I returned. His papacy was instrumental in my reversion and re-formation of my faith.
